Returning to Law

Shentons have been lucky enough to secure a number of new members of staff over the last 5 years who have returned to Law after having a family. This is in addition to the many other members of staff who have had children whilst working at the firm.

Returning to Law

The partners of the firm were struck by the exodus of working parents, and particularly women, from the profession over the last few years. It is estimated that a third of female lawyers now leave the profession between 5 – 10 years after qualification and do not return. 82% of women who left a career in Law blamed a lack of flexibility or work/life balance.*

We wanted to ensure that our workplace would be different and work around family life. We have implemented a truly flexible working environment where people can adapt their hours at short notice, work from home when required and be there for their families. We look forward to welcoming other working parents back to a career in law.
